Introduction, due on September 1

1. This is my third year at BYU, and I am a mathematics major.
2. Post-Calculus Courses: Fundamentals of Math, Linear Algebra, Multi-variable Calculus, Differential Equations, Theory of Analysis I & II, Abstract Algebra
3. I am taking this class because I want to learn something very different than analysis. I enjoy analysis, but I wanted to learn a different kind of mathematics. I have also heard many good reviews about how fun this math class is.
4. I have used a small amount of Maple. I have mainly used Matlab in my math classes and research, but I feel comfortable learning Maple and using it in my homework assignments. I have not taken any programming classes, but I feel comfortable because of my experience using Matlab.
5. Dr. Cardon was one of the most effective professors that I have had. I have had other professors that are not as effective.
6. Dr. Cardon was thorough and very clear. He was allowed many questions if needed and had available office hours. Even though his tests were difficult, Dr. Cardon was very fair. I enjoyed the class because it was challenging, but very rewarding because I felt like I was mastering the material. Other professors are not as effective because they are not as accessible to students, and they do not slow down to clearly describe concepts.
7. I know how to play cribbage.
8. I have a class at 2:00-2:50, but 11:00am-1:00pm or after 3:00 pm would be a good time for me.
